Our Approach

Natural-Looking Facial Rejuvenation, Personalized to You

Dermal fillers offer a nonsurgical way to restore lost facial volume, soften certain lines and folds, enhance facial contours and create greater definition.

At Treasure Valley Plastic Surgery & Medical Spa, filler treatment begins with your facial anatomy — not a syringe.

Every face is different. Our approach focuses on balance, proportion and results that complement your natural features rather than changing the way you look.

Whether you're interested in subtle lip enhancement, restoring youthful facial volume, improving facial contours or addressing age-related changes, our medical aesthetics team can develop an individualized treatment plan based on your anatomy and goals.

Not template-driven

We evaluate your facial anatomy first, then determine whether filler — and which product — is appropriate.

Multiple products available

Having both JUVÉDERM and Radiesse available means we can recommend based on your needs rather than what we stock.

Part of a full practice

Because we offer surgical and nonsurgical care, we can identify when filler is appropriate and when another approach may serve you better.

Hyaluronic Acid Filler

JUVÉDERM® Hyaluronic Acid Fillers

JUVÉDERM is a family of injectable dermal fillers made with hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance naturally found in the body that helps the skin retain moisture and volume.

Different JUVÉDERM formulations are designed for different treatment areas and aesthetic goals. Depending on your individual needs, JUVÉDERM may be used to enhance or restore volume in areas including:

  • Lips
  • Cheeks
  • Chin
  • Jawline
  • Smile lines and facial folds
  • Other areas of age-related facial volume loss

Treatment is customized based on your anatomy — not every JUVÉDERM product is appropriate for every area.

Biostimulatory Filler

Radiesse® Biostimulatory Filler

Radiesse takes a different approach to facial rejuvenation. Radiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) injectable that provides immediate correction while also stimulating the body's production of collagen and elastin.

This allows Radiesse to function as both a dermal filler and a biostimulator.

Radiesse may be appropriate for patients interested in improving facial structure, restoring volume or addressing signs of aging while also supporting collagen production.

Radiesse provides both immediate correction and a biostimulatory effect that develops over time — making it distinct from traditional HA fillers.

Where Fillers Can Help

What Can Dermal Fillers Treat?

Lip Filler

Lip filler can enhance lip volume, improve definition, refine lip shape and help create better balance between the upper and lower lip. Our goal isn't simply to make lips larger — treatment can be customized for subtle, natural-looking enhancement based on your anatomy and desired result.

Cheek Filler

Cheek filler can help restore age-related midface volume, enhance cheek definition and create more balanced facial contours.

Chin Filler

For appropriately selected patients, injectable filler can enhance chin projection and definition without surgery. Small changes in chin shape and projection can sometimes have a significant effect on overall facial balance.

Jawline Contouring

Dermal filler may be used to create additional definition along the jawline and improve facial proportions.

Smile Lines & Facial Folds

Fillers can help soften certain lines and folds associated with changes in facial volume and tissue support. Modern facial rejuvenation evaluates how volume changes throughout the face contribute to a concern rather than simply "filling a wrinkle."

Facial Volume Loss

Changes in fat distribution, bone structure, collagen, skin elasticity and soft-tissue support occur naturally with age. Strategically placed dermal filler can restore selected areas of volume while maintaining natural facial proportions.

Going Beyond Volume

More Than Volume: Biostimulation With Radiesse

For patients interested in more than traditional volume replacement, Radiesse offers the additional benefit of biostimulation.

Its calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres provide an injectable scaffold while stimulating fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin. This makes Radiesse particularly interesting for patients who want to address age-related changes while also supporting improvements in the skin's underlying structure.

Depending on the treatment goal, Radiesse can be used in different ways and at different dilutions. Your provider can determine whether traditional hyaluronic acid filler, biostimulatory treatment or a combination approach is most appropriate for your goals.

Learn about Sculptra & Radiesse

Immediate correction

The CaHA gel provides structural support and volume the moment it is injected.

Biostimulatory effect

CaHA microspheres stimulate fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin over time.

Develops progressively

The biostimulatory effect is separate from the initial correction and develops gradually as your skin responds.

Different from HA fillers

Radiesse is not a direct substitute for hyaluronic acid filler — it is a different tool designed for different goals.

Our Philosophy

Good Filler Shouldn't Announce Itself

Our philosophy is to use injectables thoughtfully, considering your entire face rather than treating individual features in isolation. The objective is facial harmony.

For one patient, that may mean subtle lip enhancement. For another, restoring cheek volume may create better balance. Other patients may benefit from conservatively treating several areas rather than placing a large amount of filler in one location.

Your treatment plan should reflect your anatomy, your goals and your comfort level.

The Consultation

What Happens During a Filler Consultation?

Your appointment begins with a discussion about what you'd like to change and what you want to preserve. Your provider may evaluate:

  • Areas of volume loss
  • Facial proportions and symmetry
  • Skin quality
  • Previous injectable treatments
  • Desired degree of correction
  • JUVÉDERM versus Radiesse
  • Alternative or complementary treatments
  • Expected results and longevity
  • Potential risks and downtime

Not every concern is best treated with filler.

Because Treasure Valley Plastic Surgery & Medical Spa offers nonsurgical aesthetic treatments alongside plastic surgery, our team can help determine whether filler is appropriate or whether another treatment may better accomplish your goals.

What to Expect After Treatment

Dermal filler treatments are generally performed in the office. Following treatment, some patients may experience temporary:

  • Swelling
  • Bruising
  • Redness
  • Tenderness
  • Firmness around injection sites

The amount and duration of these effects vary depending on the treatment area and individual patient. You will receive specific aftercare instructions based on your treatment.

Results Over Time

How Long Do Dermal Fillers Last?

There is no single answer. Longevity varies considerably depending on a number of factors.

Some treatments can provide improvement for many months while others may last a year or longer. Individual experiences vary, and your provider will discuss expectations specific to your treatment plan.

Radiesse differs because treatment involves both initial correction from the injectable product and a subsequent collagen-stimulating effect that develops over time — these two components have different timelines.

Longevity can depend on:

Product selected
Treatment area
Amount injected
Patient metabolism
Facial movement
Treatment goals
Individual response
